Urban Breakthrough Enterprises, Inc. offers college, financial aid and personal development workshops, tutoring, and mentors. UBE, Inc. seeks to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. It is a proven fact that youth who develop a positive self-identity, educational, employment, social, emotional and cultural competencies, a commitment to community and civic involvement, health and well being, and a strong moral compass will be more apt to become successful adults.
Programmatic Areas include:
Educational Development – We offer workshops on college preparation, financial aid, academic advising, career guidance, study skills, essay writing, student loan and debt management and scholarships.
Personal Development – We offer workshops on building self-esteem, peer pressure, brotherhood/manhood, sisterhood/womanhood, problem solving, anger management, and leadership.
Technology Development - We offer computer application and Internet training.
Professional Development - We offer workshops on career guidance/assessment, job interviewing assistance, resume and application assistance.
Financial Development/Economic Development – We offer workshops on debt management, personal budgeting and banking.
Current Programs and Services
UBE Excellence College Readiness Programs
To increase the number of First-generation and/or low-income students who pursue post-secondary education, UBE offers college, financial aid and personal development workshops. UBE Excellence College Readiness Programsfocus on small group of students, emphasizing college preparation through regular meetings, college campus visits and service learning projects that are grade and age specific. The programs will bring students and their parents into the college information loop and create a model for other students to follow.
UBE Tutoring
To be sure that no student “falls through the cracks,” tutoring will be provided to students who struggle academically.
UBE Mentoring
The Mentoring Program is designed to provide at-risk youth positive role models, in order for them to get a more positive view of the future.

Breakthrough 2 College

The Breakthrough 2 College (B2C) Program aims to increase the number of first-generation and/or low to moderate income high school students in Pflugerville who are prepared for and enroll in higher education. B2C will consist of: (1) SAT prep classes, financial aid workshops, scholarship research, tutoring, mentoring, college and scholarship essay writing seminars, personal development workshops, and admission and application assistance; and (2) Parent and student workshops on the financial aid process, student loan and debt management, college admission process, and college preparation. B2C is a 5-year pilot program that will begin in the Fall of 2008 and continue until the Fall of 2013. We fully expect to continue the program beyond 2013 as funding permits.
Delta Chi Delta
Many of our students were not getting involved in any extracurricular activities outside of athletics, so we decided to provide an outlet for them to get involved in their community. In order to participate in Delta Chi Delta students must participate in community service, college visits, job shadowing, enrichment activities, cultural activities, resume building, and be in good academic standing in all of their classes. Students will also fundraise for monies as it relates to the operation and needs of Delta Chi Delta.
Mission: Delta Chi Delta seeks to provide and promote cultural expression, leadership, academic achievement, community service, college and career awareness and preparation and personal development for the empowerment of students in Travis and Williamson Counties.
Goals: Delta Chi Delta provides a forum for the expression of culture, student views and interests; to improve academic achievement and responsibility; to improve student cultural, social and physical welfare and awareness; to promote the development of better educational standards to foster the recognition of the responsibilities of the Students to the school, the community, and humanity…
UBE E-mail Mentoring
UBE E-mail Mentoring has been established to overcome the barriers of time and space to provide mentors to needy students. The UBE E-mail Mentoring seeks to provide its clients with a caring adult professional that will while increasing clients’ usage and knowledge of technology.
